Faced with an unintended pregnancy and a lack of local support, Autumn (Sidney Flanigan) and her cousin Skylar (Talia Ryder) embark on a brave, fraught journey across state lines to New York City for an abortion. Eliza Hittman's Never Rarely  Sometimes Always will rank as one of the year's most impactful films.

Anchored by two of the most natural performances from two young actors in recent memory - Never Rarely is, quite simply, a stunner. It is a conversation-starter, to be sure, but also an involving character piece. Hittman does an excruciatingly accurate job of conveying the complexities of the abortion debate reminding us: This is a girl's in a man's world.

Winner: Silver Bear, Berlin Film Festival.

Winner: Jury Prize, Sundance Film Festival.

"I'm not trying to downplay the emotional stuff but there's a fine line between gruelling and gripping and Hittman is always on the right side of it."
London Evening Standard
4stars
"With empathy and outrage that cut equally deeply, Hittman reminds us: This is a girl's life in a man's world."
Washington Post
