A piercingly clever comedy from Spain, featuring Academy Award winner Javier Bardem at the top of his game.

Blanco (Bardem), the charismatic owner of a family-run factory, is under pressure as he covets a local award for business excellence. Everything needs to be perfect! But the veneer of the perfect company cracks as Blanco has to deal with a vengeful fired worker, a depressed supervisor, and an infatuated ambitious intern. To win the competition, the manipulative "good boss" shamelessly meddles in his employees' private lives and crosses every line imaginable, unknowingly starting an explosive chain reaction with wild consequences.

Critics are saying...
★★★★
“Javier Bardem gives a powerhouse performance in The Good Boss... It’s a drama featuring a collection of well-developed, intriguing characters, all of them beautifully acted by a fine cast. Writer-director Fernando Leon de Aranoa has certainly created a fine role for one of Spain’s best actors – Blanco is a very long way from his role as Desi Arnaz in Being the Ricardos, but in both roles, Bardem excels.” The Australian, David Stratton

“A phenomenally great movie” Filmink

“Slickly entertaining” Hollywood Reporter

“A masterpiece” El Mundo

“Hilarious and accomplished dark comedy about the indignities of working life. A tour de force satire.” CineEurpoa

“Slickly-made and entertaining… plenty of smiles and a few outright belly-laughs.” Screen International

Spanish with English subtitles.

The Good Boss is a tour de force of satire, a delirious trip of a film at a moment when life feels too intense, too broken and just too darn sad.
