Dean Kavanaugh’s latest film combines drama, comedy and experimentation in telling the story of John Kline Jr, a mute projectionist whose parents vanished twenty-five years earlier.

Searching for answers, he recreates his family through a process of filmmaking, re-staging and re-imagining home movies, casting local actors to perform the role of his parents.

A key figure in the contemporary Irish avant-garde cinema, Kavanaugh’s latest film shifts between formats, techniques and styles, creating a strangely mesmerising work about family, memory and cinema.
