Edge of Life explores the doorway to death — the last great frontier of human life. While we intellectually understand that life ends, in the Western world death is often treated as a mirage. Two Australian doctors are using psilocybin to ease the anguish of patients at the end of life, achieving remarkable results. Their journey to the Amazon to experience traditional plant medicines firsthand challenges their scientific assumptions and raises profound questions: could the world’s oldest cultures have wisdom not only about healing, but about death itself?
This is not new knowledge; it is lost knowledge.
With breathtaking cinematography and intimate access to patients, practitioners, and healers, Edge of Life offers a deeply moving exploration of how ancient wisdom and modern science can converge to transform end-of-life care. It is a spiritual, emotional, and scientific journey into life, death, and the healing power of nature.
Following the Opening Night Live Q&A, the film will screen in an exclusive one-week season at Luna Leederville and Luna on SX, from Friday, 14 November.
