Future Council Virtual Q&A screening with DAMON GAMEAU

From the makers of THAT SUGAR FILM and 2040 comes FUTURE COUNCIL, a truly inspiring film that emphasises the importance of youth advocacy and empowering students to believe in their ability to drive change.

We are delighted to present a Virtual Q&A screening event with director DAMON GAMEAU on Saturday, August 5 at 5.00pn at Luna Leederville, where he will present his latest inspiring and empowering new film FUTURE COUNCIL.

Millions of children around the world are frustrated by the dire lack of action to protect the planet and their future. Until now, their only avenue to express these concerns has been protesting on the streets. Director Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) invites eight children on an epic adventure across Europe in a school bus powered by biofuel. Their mission is to better understand the planet’s predicament, explore solutions and, most importantly, take the conversation from the streets into the boardrooms of some of the world’s largest polluters and most influential companies.

This inspiring and rollicking journey, where ‘School of Rock’ meets ‘An Inconvenient Truth, results in the children forming a ‘Future Council’ to advise and influence the world's most powerful companies on their decisions that impact nature.

FUTURE COUNCIL encourages students and youth to think critically about their role in protecting nature and influence powerful leaders to find regenerative solutions to our most pressing ecological challenges. The journey of the Future Council is to provide a relatable and inspiring narrative that encourages active participation in environmental advocacy, to empower young leaders how to collaborate with businesses and institutions to create a better future.
