Synopsis

Australian Premiere

You’ve heard of cabin fever, but what about submarine fever?

Lucas Bernard’s In the Sub for Love is a bold and hilarious romantic comedy that dives deep into love – and chaos. When Marco (Pio Marmaï, The Three Musketeers I & II, AF FFF24), a carefree steward, meets Marianne (Eye Haïdara), a serious, practical submarine officer, during a fleeting shore leave, their lives briefly entangle.

But when Marianne accidentally leaves her necklace behind, Marco seizes the chance to return it – only to find himself aboard her submarine with no chance of escape! Can love flourish 500 feet underwater, or will their differences sink the sub?

Like fire and water, Marco’s charm and easy-going savoir-faire clash with Marianne’s steely discipline, resulting in a laugh-out-loud odd-couple comedy. This French gem of a wildly mismatched love story navigates high seas, tropical storms, and even the Arctic, proving when it comes to love, even the steadiest course can veer off chart.

With its vibrant colours and punchy humour, In the Sub for Love is a buoyant love letter to the screwball romantic comedies of the 1940s. Lucas Bernardʼs witty direction and the castʼs electric chemistry make it the perfect choice to close AF FFF on a high note. All hands on deck – don’t miss this heartfelt film!
