Synopsis

Australian Premiere

When champion boxer Souleyman gets in a bar fight on the eve of his Olympic Games début, it’s not just his dreams that are shattered.

With broken knuckles and sentenced to 400 hours of community service at the decadent Château de Chambord, it looks like it's all over for Souleyman (Ahmed Sylla, The Climb). Stuck collecting rubbish and participating in cheap medieval reenactments, he is resigned to his fate until he is surprised by foster kid Mélissa (Mallory Wanecque, Beating Hearts, AF FFF25). Deeply troubled but blessed with an inherent gift for boxing, she might just be the ticket to Souleyman's official comeback.

Like a Prince is a fresh, upbeat comedy from actor and first-time director Ali Marhyar. Filmed on location at Château de Chambord, the spectacular French Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley, Like a Prince proves that going from champion boxer to teen coach is harder than it looks. If Souleyman wants to convince Mélissa that her dreams are worth following, he’ll need more than just talk. When every punch counts, what kind of mark will Souleyman leave behind?
