Join us for this year’s Arc’teryx Winter Film Tour. Conceived deep in the mountains and now travelling the world, our annual film tour features inspiring short films that celebrate uncommon journeys into the mountains.
The Last Light Falls Gently
Celebrating the life of Te Moeka O Tuawe, the Fox Glacier, on New Zealand’s southwest coast. Explorations of its fragility and reflections on its profound influence, on the lives of a community. A collective meditation on change, endurance, connection and acceptance. We remember humanity's inherent ties to the land and to each other, as we take in the fleeting light and enduring afterglow.
Weazy
Craig Murray's skiing might jump off the screen, but it's the character behind the stunts, jumps, flips, and spins that truly resonates. Follow along on a season with Murray as be chases his snow, evolving his skiing and making lasting connections with the community that supports him.
Every Island Has a Name
Visage is about what we all love about snowboarding and its community—fun, camaraderie, and going where it takes us. While Severin’s previous film, Chroma, had a rather melancholic and contemplative tone, this project will emphasize the sheer enjoyment of exploring, riding, and spending quality time with a group of like-minded friends who share a deep passion. Consisting of three chapters, it features a mix of digital and film, incorporating three additional artists.
Tim
Navigating the complexities of living with down-syndrome, skier Tim Sackbauer carves his own path. With his family by his side, a tight-knit bunch with skiing in their DNA, Tim finds a refuge for expression, solace, and the autonomy to experience the world on his own terms.
Welcome to the Pit?
In 2011, Steve Matthews had a bright idea. With his kids completely hooked on snowboarding, he rallied a few friends and set out to build Yellowknife’s first and only rope tow. Without city permission or permits, Steve quietly went to work on the abandoned gravel mine on the outskirts of town, inadvertently creating the epicenter of snow-sliding in the Northwest Territories. Welcome to the Pit is a film that tells the story of Bristol Pit—and the community that it’s created—from the perspective of those who hand-built the pit and keep it running today.
