Rosamund Pike electrifies the stage in this gripping new play that will keep you on the edge of your seat — it’s impossible to see this production and not recommend it to everyone you know.
The Oscar-nominated star returns to live performance after 15 years, delivering a riveting portrayal of a Crown Court judge caught between career, motherhood, and moral crisis. Critics have hailed her performance as “electric” and “immaculate.”
From the creative team behind Prima Facie, playwright Suzie Miller and director Justin Martin reunite for another searing exploration of justice and gender. With the same creative intensity that made Prima Facie a global phenomenon, Inter Alia delves even deeper into the fault lines of power, consent, and accountability.
A work of sharp intelligence and urgency, Inter Alia examines motherhood under pressure, masculinity, consent, and the justice system through a deeply human lens. When Prima Facie premiered in London, featuring Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) in an acclaimed performance, a judge reportedly contacted Miller to say she wanted to rewrite her instructions to sexual assault juries using the text of the play. Since then, the filmed performance has been used as a teaching tool for judges in the UK, for barristers visiting schools to discuss consent, and soon, for Australian police.
“It’s great to see artists filling the gaps authorities don’t care to fill — especially on topics as important as these,” wrote Marie Claire Australia.
Inter Alia is thought-provoking to its core — it touches a nerve every parent of teenagers will recognise and doesn’t shy away from pressing it. The issue of consent is complex and charged, and that’s precisely where art like this proves its worth. The conversations it sparks — the “I didn’t think of it that way” moments — are the ones that shift understanding and open minds.
For those wanting to explore further, Good Film has created a fascinating deep dive into the work. And for educational resources and ongoing dialogue, we recommend visiting our friends at Teach Us Consent.
