One to One: John & Yoko

Synopsis
Direct from Sundance, Venice, and Telluride Film Festivals, ONE TO ONE: JOHN & YOKO is an expansive and revelatory backstage pass to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s life in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s. Kevin Macdonald’s documentary catches a radioactively charismatic Lennon enjoying his rambunctious post-Beatles heyday in New York.
This moving look at the couple’s life explores their musical, personal, artistic, social, and political world. At the core of the story are the One to One Concerts, John Lennon’s only full-length performance after The Beatles. The film delivers an immersive cinematic experience that brings to life never-before-seen material and newly restored footage.

Reviews
★★★★ If only more nostalgic music documentaries could muster such a fun, fierce and full-blooded take on old, familiar material. One to One, against the odds, makes Lennon feel somehow vital again.
★★★★ 1/2 MacDonald’s unconventional and energetic documentary is a kaleidoscopic portrait of life, love, peace, and music as seen in times of war, confusion, paranoia, and bigotry.
★★★★ For Beatles fans, music historians, or anyone who understands that one and one and one is three, One to One: John and Yoko is a revelatory, deeply human, and utterly compelling tribute.
