Synopsis
James Hollenbaugh’s documentary tells the story of photographer Shelby Lee Adams and the artist’s photographs of Appalachian mountain people.
These works capture the spirits of their subjects, photos in which the souls and lives of his subjects are bared for his camera.
These photos document a culture that is changing, and Shelby Lee Adams journey as a photographer is told with a careful nuance by Hollenbaugh.
James Hollenbaugh’s experimental works have screened at Revelation, this is his first feature.
