SIGNORINELLA: LITTLE MISS
Synopsis
Signorinella – Little Miss shines a light on the unsung heroes of the Italian migrant experience, celebrating the women whose tenacity and spirit transformed the Italian-Australian community after WWII. From raising families while running businesses, to influencing Australia’s food, fashion, media, and cultural landscape, these women didn’t just adapt — they thrived.
Narrated by Italian-Australian actress Greta Scacchi and from the directors of Lygon Street – Si Parla Italiano, the documentary features interviews with influential women including Allegra Spender, Carla Zampatti, and Tina Arena, sharing stories of hardship, resilience, and triumph. Through personal narratives and historical insights, Signorinella – Little Miss is a heartfelt tribute to determination, creativity, and the enduring spirit of women who dared to dream.
