Reviews
The comic actor breaks out of his comfort zone... and it's an impressive late-career pivot. Who knew Paul Blart had it in him?
The film marks a pleasant evolution in Kevin James’s talent, revealing a more sophisticated, softer, quieter, and emotional side.
The directing brothers Charles and Daniel Kinnane know what they have in the ridiculously amiable star [Kevin James]. They also know there’s more, if not depth, soulfulness to his talents. In the place of pratfalls, they’ve found a kind of sheepish charm and hurt.
If this film doesn’t make you want to run out and book your own Italian vacation, your heart must be made of stone.
