On the surface, Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch) have it all -- successful careers, a seemingly perfect marriage, and the kind of family life that looks straight out of a glossy magazine. But behind closed doors, cracks are beginning to show. As Theo’s once-stellar career starts to spiral, Ivy’s own ambitions are on the rise, and their carefully curated world begins to unravel in spectacular fashion. What starts as simmering tension soon explodes into an all-out battle of egos, envy, and emotional warfare.

The Roses is a darkly funny, razor-sharp reimagining of the 1989 cult classic The War of the Roses, based on Warren Adler’s novel. With a killer cast including Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, and Ncuti Gatwa, and a biting script by Oscar-nominated Australian screenwriter Tony McNamara (Poor Things, The Favourite), this modern marital meltdown is as stylish as it is savage.

Screening at Luna Leederville, Luna on SX, & The Windsor.
