Australian Premiere

Academy Award® winner Helen Mirren (The Queen) leads A Talent for Murder, a mysterious thriller from acclaimed director Anton Corbijn (Control), based on Joanna Murray-Smith's acclaimed play Switzerland that imagines a strange confrontation between a literary agent and the legendary author behind The Talented Mr Ripley, Patricia Highsmith.

In 1995, Highsmith (Mirren), has retired to the Swiss Alps, where she largely confines herself to her study, surrounded by her books, cats, and collection of antique weapons. Edward Ridgeway (Alden Ehrenreich), emissary for a New York publisher, is sent to persuade her to craft the final instalment in her bestselling series of mysteries featuring the murderous antihero, Tom Ripley. Irritated by this youthful, overly eager visitor, Highsmith refuses the offer — unless Ridgeway can dream up the perfect murder along with her.

Darkly funny, thrilling, and an unrepentantly seductive mystery that asks the audience to question who the true antagonist is, A Talent for Murder is a deeply intriguing foray into the realm where history and myth become deliciously entangled.
