BFF26: Sunny Dancer

Australian premiere

Starring Bella Ramsay (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us), this heartfelt coming-of-age romantic comedy celebrates love, friendship, and feeling most alive whilst the world has other plans.

Seventeen-year-old Ivy (Ramsay) has been in remission from Leukemia for ten months. She is struggling to come to terms with life after illness, and the last thing she wants is to be sent by her loving yet overbearing parents to a summer camp for kids with cancer.

Upon arrival, she is introduced to camp president Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris), outdoors lead Tristian and therapist Lucy. Despite being reluctant at first, Ivy gradually befriends the like-minded misfit campers, making connections with raunchy roommate Ella and sensitive Jake.

Coming to embrace her time at the camp, Ivy and her newfound friends decide to live life to the fullest, having fun, dancing and maybe even falling in love.

With a healthy dose of dark humour and genuine warmth, Sunny Dancer thoughtfully presents first love, acceptance, and challenging adversity in a fresh take on the summer camp comedy.
