Synopsis

Siempre es invierno
From renowned writer-director David Trueba (Forgotten We’ll Be) comes Always Winter, based on his own novel Blitz, an intimate and delicate story laced with sharp wit about a deeply flawed man who, despite his current mid-life crisis, shares moments of unexpected tenderness and joy with an older woman.
Miguel (David Verdaguer, El 47, Jokes & Cigarettes) is a landscape architect who travels to Liege, Belgium to take part in a conference. When his girlfriend abruptly dumps him, Miguel decides to stay on for a few days in Belgium. There he meets Olga (Isabelle Renault), a volunteer at the conference who prompts him to rethink his personal and professional life, transforming the way he sees the world and his future.
Exploring a complex emotional journey that is peppered with absurd situations, and challenging social taboos by depicting the relationship between a younger man and an older woman, Always Winter is a tender drama about emotional bonds, the passage of time, and unexpected encounters that can change everything in a moment.
