Synopsis
La storia del Frank e della Nina
Dreamy Milan serves as the backdrop for a poetic and anarchistic film symphony about young friendship, the longing for freedom, and the courage to write one's own story.
Carlo, nicknamed Gollum, is a mute graffiti artist who expresses himself on Milan's city walls. His best friend Frank, a school dropout making ends meet by selling tutoring services, dreams of leaving everything behind. When they meet Nina, a 16-year-old Romani mother with a violent husband, their lives are profoundly changed. Nina hires Frank to help her with her studies, and an unexpected bond grows between them. Together with the silent Carlo, they form an unlikely trio preparing to leave the life they know behind. The Story of Frank and Nina is a vibrant and heartwarming, punk-inspired coming-of-age tale about finding family where you least expect it.

Reviews
Frank and Nina had me giddy with exhilaration, from the spirited pacing to the truly arresting camerawork to the hilarious and often moving work being done by the ensemble.
A sweet, slightly whimsical coming-of-age film that effectively finds meaning in words through a character who doesn’t say any.
