Synopsis

Errol Morris (The Thin Blue Line, 1988, The Fog of War, 2003) returns with Separated, a hard-hitting documentary about the southern border policy under the first Trump presidency.

Under the policy children and parents crossing the border were separated on capture – the children taken away from their parents and caged.

Through meticulous interviews, Morris' absorbing, clinical documentary shows how the policy was developed and implemented, as well as its effects.

This is not an easy watch, but is a necessary film, and a testament to the power of documentary and the quiet power of Errol Morris’s filmmaking.
