REV25: SMELL OF BURNT MILK
Book Tickets
Synopsis
As the long summer stretches ahead, life on the southern German farm is changing.
Smell of Burnt Milk follows this existence through three generations of women; Grandmother Emma, pregnant Anna who thinks about castrations, and her sister Katinka who wants to carry on the family farming tradition.
Daily tasks are undertaken, events unfold and the summer days pass slowly by. Bauer’s film is a contemplative exploration of women, family and farming against the rhythms and cycles of rural life.
Justine Bauer’s feature debut is a remarkable work, garnering the Munich Film Festival Young German Cinema Award, 2024, as well as the TeleVisionale Film und Serien Festival MFG-Star winner 2024.
