REV25: THE EXTRAORDINARY MISS FLOWER
Book Tickets
Synopsis
A remarkable hybrid work from artists / filmmakers Forsyth and Pollard (20,000 Days on Earth), The Extraordinary Miss Flower tells the story of a cache of love letters unearthed by Zoe Flower (the film’s producer) following her mother’s death.
Partly imagining Miss Flower through short scenes with Caroline Catz (Delia Derbyshire: The Myths and Legendary Tapes), partly through songs by Icelandic singer Emiliana Torrini (Jungle Drum and co-writer of Kylie’s Slow), and partly through readings of the letters by Richard Ayoade (Submarine, The IT Crowd), singer Nick Cave, and Angus Sampson (The Mule, Fury Road) amongst many others.
Additional contributions to the film come from Sophie Ellis-Bexter (Murder on the Dancefloor) and choreographer Kate Coyne.
The final film is a remarkable work, a celebration of communication, letters, the human need for connection, and a life lived.
